US domestic structural tubing prices flat; 2019 buying starts slow

Prices for domestically produced structural tubing in the United States were unchanged on Thursday January 3, with market participants reporting that a post-holiday order surge had not yet emerged.

Two mill sources confirmed that distributor bookings have not started roaring back in the new year.  "Orders are few and far between," one mill source said. "The customers think prices will continue to fall - obviously if they aren't booking stuff when they came back January 2 and January 3."
