China’s GTA lowers tungsten forecast prices for January, but participants see limited downside for concentrate

Ganzhou Tungsten Association (GTA) has lowered its tungsten price forecasts for January due to persistently weak downstream demand which has pressured the market since late last year.

The China-based association has forecast an average price of 95,000 yuan ($13,984) per tonne for black tungsten concentrate 65% in the Chinese domestic market in January, a decrease of 2.6% or 2,500 yuan per tonne from the previous monthly forecast price. GTA’s forecast price for ammonium paratungstate (APT) for this month is 150,000 yuan per tonne, down by 2.6% or 4,000 yuan per tonne from the prior forecast.
