Major Chinese steel mills cut ferro-silicon tender prices for January

Major steel mills in China have set their ferro-silicon tenders for January at prices lower than those settled for the prior month due to having less urgent need to restock, market sources told Fastmarkets MB.

Both Hebei Steel, China’s largest mill, and Jiangsu Shagang last week released their January tender purchase prices for ferro-silicon.
Hebei Steel’s latest tender price is 6,700 yuan ($990) per tonne, down 4.4% from the mill’s tender price of 7,010 yuan per tonne for December last year.
