CHINA REBAR: Domestic rebar prices edge up on surging futures

China’s domestic rebar prices picked up slightly on Friday January 18 after strong gains in the futures market.

Domestic Eastern China (Shanghai): 3,680-3,710 yuan ($543-548) per tonne, up 10 yuan per tonne Northern China (Beijing): 3,630-3,660 yuan per tonne, up 10 yuan per tonne Rebar futures rose to a two-month high of 3,636 yuan per tonne during the day, which gave spot prices some support.
