ITALY HBI: Prices fall on scrap market weakness

The import price for hot-briquetted iron (HBI) in Italy decreased further in the week ended Thursday January 24 due to the weak scrap market, Fastmarkets has heard.

Fastmarkets’ import price assessment for HBI in Italy fell to $260-270 per tonne cfr on January 24, from $280 per tonne cfr a week before. The latest deals in Italy were heard for small quantities of Libya-origin material at $270 per tonne cfr last week.
