China’s CRC, HDG export prices flat in quiet market [CORRECTED]

Export prices for Chinese cold-rolled coil (CRC) and hot-dipped galvanized coil (HDG) were unchanged over the past week amid sparse offers and a lack of trading, ahead of the country’s public holiday from February 4-10 for the Lunar New Year.

“Most mills in China have stopped issuing new offers [for flat steel, including CRC and HDG] because they’re already in a holiday mood, and many of them have also sold out March-shipment cargoes,” a Tianjin-based trader said on Tuesday January 29. Cold-rolled coil Fastmarkets MB’s weekly export price assessment for Chinese SPCC 1.0mm CRC was $520-525 per tonne fob China on Tuesday, unchanged from a week earlier.
