Seaborne iron ore pellet, conc prices rise as supply concerns grip market

Seaborne iron ore pellet and concentrate prices were up last week, with further gains anticipated following supply concerns amid disruption to Vale’s iron ore operations in Brazil.

The MB 65% Fe Blast Furnace Pellet Index, published by Fastmarkets MB, was at $133.94 per tonne cfr China on Friday February 8, up by $5.26 per tonne from a week earlier. The index crossed the $130-per-tonne mark for the first time since November 23, when it stood at $132.07 per tonne cfr China.
