Hebei Steel cuts Feb silico-manganese purchase price by 4.2%

China’s largest steel mill, Hebei Steel, has cut its monthly purchase price for silico-manganese, making this the second consecutive time tender prices have been reduced.

The mill has offered to buy silico-manganese at 7,900 yuan ($1,164.93) per tonne for February delivery. The price includes delivery costs and payment through an acceptance draft, market sources in China said. The latest tender is about 350 yuan lower than the mill’s January purchase price of 8,250 yuan per tonne, representing a 4.2% month-on-month decline.
