Hyundai Steel raises HRC offer to $600 per tonne cfr

South Korea’s Hyundai Steel is offering its May-shipment hot-rolled coil to Southeast Asia at $600 per tonne cfr.

This is $30 per tonne higher than the transaction prices of about $570 per tonne cfr that it agreed with Southeast Asian buyers for April-shipment cargoes. The rising cost of raw materials - iron ore particularly - was cited as a key reason for the higher offers for May-shipment materials. “Blast furnace-based steel mills have been increasing their offers for March and April shipment materials due to the increase in global steel demand after the Lunar New Year holidays [in February],”...
