INTL COPPER CONF: Fierce competition, inefficiencies driving downstream copper consolidation – Nexans, KME, DCC

Consolidation among copper consuming companies is likely to continue and is being driven by an an ever more competitive market for copper products, panelists at Fastmarkets’ International Copper conference in Amsterdam said on Tuesday March 12.

Italian products manufacturer KME has been on an acquisition spree, which continued today when it took full control of French copper tubes manufacturer Tréfimétaux. Last December, KME announced it will purchase German rival MKM and in 2017 another major deal saw Prysmian buy General Cable....
