FORECAST: APT prices have 'little potential upside beyond recent gains'

The price of ammonium paratungstate (APT) has continued to rise since the beginning of March but sentiment remains cautious, market participants told Fastmarkets on Tuesday March 12, and there is only limited short-term upside potential.

In Europe, the price of APT was assessed at $271-282 per metric tonne unit (mtu) on March 8, up slightly from $270-280 per mtu on March 1.
On March 6, Fastmarkets assessed the export price of APT, Chinese no1 grade, at $265-277 per mtu, fob China. This widened upward by $2 per mtu from $265-275 per mtu on February 27 amid tightening availability in Europe.
