New Alunorte court date set for April 12; judge considers third-party assessments

The federal court in Belém, in the northern Brazilian state of Pará, has scheduled a second conciliatory hearing on April 12 to discuss the production embargo of Norsk Hydro’s Alunorte alumina refinery.

The first hearing took place on Thursday April 4, with Norsk Hydro and Brazil's federal prosecutors’ office (MPF) producing information to the judge regarding the progress of the ongoing third-party assessments of two external reports on Alunorte.
