INTL LEAD & ZINC CONF: New Century targets fast-track zinc-lead output in optimized tailings project

Junior miner New Century Resources plans to bolster its large-scale tailings operation in Australia, which reprocesses zinc and lead, through the use of advanced technology and logistics, the company told delegates at Fastmarkets’ International Lead & Zinc conference on Monday April 15.

The Century mine, located in the state of Queensland about 250km northwest of Mount Isa, is an open-pit mine which yields zinc, lead and silver. It began production in 1999 but was closed in December 2015 by former owner MMC, due to depletion of ore reserves.
