Load-shedding risk remains over 6-12 months - Eskom

South African state power utility Eskom has warned that the risk of load shedding remain over the next six-12 months even after 36 consecutive days without resorting to the power-cutting protocol.

Eskom implemented several rounds of load shedding - controlled power outages to reduce strain on the country’s grid - during the first quarter of the year due to lack of generating capacity.
