The market has been quiet this week, largely due to the May 1 public holidays in many European countries, but also because of the previous slowdown for the Easter break across the continent.
“Prices are under pressure and they have moved down on the lower coil [values]," a distributor said. “But we hope the market gets busy [soon], as it’s too quiet."
Hollow sections had, until this week, managed to avoid feedstock-related price falls, but the the most recent price assessment shows that a lack of good demand has led to a downturn.
