COKING COAL DAILY: fob Australia prices end the week lower

The fob Australia seaborne coking coal price ended the week lower following a flurry of transactions, while the cfr China price remained supported by the demand for premium low-vol hard coking coal in China.

A cargo of June-loading top Australian brand had changed hands at $209 per tonne fob Australia, while a premium mid-vol hard coking coal cargo, also loading in June, traded at $203 per tonne fob Australia, Fastmarkets heard on Friday May 24.  Fastmarkets MB's fob Australia Premium Hard Coking Coal Index was down $2.52 per tonne to $204.04 per tonne, while cfr China premium hard coking coal index was up $0.90 per tonne to $211.87 per tonne.
