World manganese ore production down 17.6% in April - IMnI

World manganese ore production dropped to 1.5 million tonnes of manganese units in April, down 17.6% year on year and 11.3% against March, according to the International Manganese Institute (IMnI).

Output for the first four months of 2019 was stable due to higher production in Africa and the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) region being offset by declines in Asia and Oceania, Europe and the Americas, the industry body said.
