CIS PIG IRON: Market slides on drop in scrap prices

The market for pig iron exports from the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) was squeezed last week, under pressure from falling scrap prices.

Fastmarkets’ weekly price assessment for high-manganese pig iron exports from the CIS was $325-330 per tonne fob Black Sea on Thursday June 6, down from $335 per tonne fob a week earlier. “The scrap market is going down and it seems that it will go down further after Eid holiday.
