China’s plate export prices drop further amid thin trading

China’s export prices for steel plate continued to drop over the past week, with trading activity remaining thin.

The Fastmarkets MB export price assessment for July/August shipments of Chinese commercial-grade, chromium-added plate was $510-515 per tonne fob for the week ended Tuesday June 11, down $8-10 per tonne from $518-525 per tonne fob a week earlier.
A trader in eastern China told Fastmarkets MB that a deal involving a buyer in Vietnam was concluded at around $515 per tonne fob.

He declined to disclose more details, but said that end users that were less sensitive about prices in comparison...
