US structural tubing prices sink on HRC decline

Prices for domestically produced structural tubing in the United States dropped for the seventh straight week after the cost of hot-rolled coil substrate continued to tumble.

Fastmarkets AMM's weekly pricing assessment for US domestic A500 hollow structural sections fell to $870-920 per ton ($43.50 to $46 per hundredweight) fob mill on Thursday June 13 from $890-930 per ton ($44.50-46.50 per cwt) on June 6.  Service centers still have not been buying much material for inventory, according to market participants.
