TURKEY FLAT STEEL: Domestic HRC price up but demand remains weak

The price for hot-rolled coil (HRC) in Turkey has gone up in some market areas over the past week but the summer slowdown and the reduction in end-user consumption have continued, sources told Fastmarkets on Friday July 19.

Domestic prices
Fastmarkets’ weekly price assessment for steel HRC, domestic, exw Turkey, increased to $520-525 per tonne on Friday, compared with $515-520 per tonne a week earlier.
Turkish mills have been offering such material at $530-535 per tonne ex-works, while deals have been heard at $520-525 per tonne ex-works.
