CHINA REBAR: Bad weather saps domestic demand, but prices steady

Bad weather is weighing on domestic rebar demand in China, but prices were unchanged on Tuesday July 23 with the strength in the futures market being sustained.

Domestic
Eastern China (Shanghai): 3,970-4,000 yuan ($577-581) per tonne, unchanged
Northern China (Beijing): 3,900-3,930 yuan per tonne, unchanged
Various parts of northern and southeastern China were inundated with heavy rain in the last couple of days, while temperatures soared in other parts of the country.
The bad weather affected working hours in the construction sector, resulting in a drop in demand for rebar, sources said.

But sellers kept their prices...
