CIS FLAT STEEL: Reduced availability helps to maintain export prices

The reduced availability of hot-rolled coil and cold-rolled coil is helping to maintain export prices from the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS), sources told Fastmarkets this week.

Fastmarkets’ weekly price assessment for steel HRC, export, fob Black Sea, CIS, $/tonne, was $490-500 on Monday July 22, narrowing upward by $5 per tonne week on week.
“The market is not very active now, but this is a seasonal [thing],” one trader from the Middle East and North Africa (Mena) region told Fastmarkets.
