Teck warns of 20-30kt zinc output drop after equipment failure at Trail Operations

An electrical equipment failure at Teck Resources’ Trail Operations zinc refinery in Canada’s British Columbia last weekend has forced it to suspend one of four rectifiers there.

As a result, the refinery in Trail, in Canada’s westernmost province, will see its capacity reduced by approximately 25% over the next 20 weeks while repairs are being undertaken, which would lead to a production loss of 20,000-30,000 tonnes of zinc ingot, the miner said on Monday August 26....
