Both supply and demand for steel in China will maintain a relatively steady pace in the second half of the year, but the growth rate will be slower compared with the first half though. Yet it is possible the steel price may rebound over September-October when downstream demand for steel products typically improves, Chen Xinliang, a representative from China Iron and Steel Association said.
“In terms of national macroeconomic policies, the current fiscal policies and some measures that encourage domestic infrastructure construction will do some good to the steel industry,” Chen said.
