China’s daily crude steel output drops in late July, rebounds in August

Major Chinese steelmakers’ daily crude steel output rates decreased in late July 2019, and their finished steel inventories also dropped, according to new data. But the rates picked up again in early August.

Member mills of the China Iron & Steel Association (Cisa) produced crude steel at an average rate of 1.95 million tonnes per day in the last 11 days of July. This was down by 3.56% from the 2.02 million tpd in the second 10 days of the month, according to data released by the industry...
