PEOPLE MOVES: Thyssenkrupp names new CEO

German steelmaker Thyssenkrupp named Martina Merz as its new chief executive officer as of October 1, replacing Guido Kerkhoff, the supervisory board confirmed on Monday September 30.

Guido Kerkhoff became interim ceo on July 13, 2018 as a replacement for Heinrich Hiesinger, who resigned from the company following criticism over a 50:50 joint venture between Thyssenkrupp and Indian steel company Tata Steel.
