Higher APT prices, tight concentrate supply boost European ferro-tungsten market

The ferro-tungsten price rose in Europe last week following an increase in inquiries and tightening concentrates supply in China.

Fastmarkets’ price assessment for ferro-tungsten basis 75% W, in-whs dup Rotterdam rose by 0.9% to $28-29.50 per kg on Friday October 4 from the midweek assessment of $28-29 per kg, when prices had moved up from $27.75-29 per kg.
"The overall confidence has grown. We are getting more inquiries as people need to replenish their stocks. We have increased our offer prices accordingly in line with increasing APT and concentrates prices," a trader in Europe said.
