CHINA REBAR: Prices in Shanghai fall further on bearish outlook

Rebar prices in eastern China continued to weaken on Wednesday October 9 on inactivity and sustained pessimism, while those in the northern region were unchanged on steady demand.

Eastern China (Shanghai): 3,720-3,750 yuan ($520-525) per tonne, down 20-30 yuan per tonne
Northern China (Beijing): 3,590-3,630 yuan per tonne, unchanged
Sellers in eastern China lowered their prices to stimulate sales amid a pessimistic outlook for the market for the remainder of the year, with supply from the northern region expected to be high during a period of weakening demand.
