Brazilian export pig iron prices up on supply-demand imbalance

Pig iron exporters in southern Brazil increased deal prices due to a supply-demand imbalance, sources told Fastmarkets on Friday November 1, although the sources differed on the source of the imbalance - higher demand or lower availability.

Fastmarkets’ weekly price assessment for pig iron export, fob port of Vitoria/Rio, Brazil was $287-292 per tonne on November 1, up from $273-275 per tonne a week before.
