CHINA HRC: Prices dip on weakening demand

China’s hot-rolled coil prices dipped further on Monday November 11 amid a weakening of demand, particularly in the eastern region.

Eastern China (Shanghai): 3,510-3,520 yuan ($502-503) per tonne, down 10-20 yuan per tonne
Northern China (Tangshan): 3,510 yuan per tonne, down 10 yuan per tonne
A Shanghai-based trader said demand in the city had softened, which sapped trading volumes as well as prices.

He attributed this to continual losses in the futures market as well as due to a general trend in the country that sees many steel-consuming industries downstream relocating from the developed eastern region...
