China’s CRC, HDG export prices up on surge in trading activity

Export prices for Chinese cold-rolled coil and hot-dipped galvanized coil rose during the week to Tuesday November 19 due to improved buying interest amid gains in upstream hot-rolled coil prices, market participants told Fastmarkets.

Buyers were interested in replenishing their inventories amid concerns that Asian flat steel prices could track increases in China's domestic market, sources said.

Fastmarkets’ weekly price assessment for steel cold-rolled coil export, fob China, was $500-510 per tonne on Tuesday November 19, up by $15 per tonne from a week earlier.
A shipment of CRC was booked by a buyer in South America at $505-510 per tonne fob China.
Liaoning-based Benxi Iron & Steel on Tuesday issued an offer of $520 per tonne fob for January 2020-shipment CRC, up $5 per tonne from last week.
