EUROPE HRC: Sentiment positive with prices firm but not rising

Domestic prices for hot-rolled coil in Europe have been stable day on day, but the mood in the market remained upbeat, sources told Fastmarkets on Thursday November 21.

“Workable” prices and a few deals have been heard at €420-425 ($465-470) per tonne ex-works, but market sources suggested that mills could give additional discounts of about €5 per tonne to specific buyers for December rolling.
This would be in line with Fastmarkets’ latest price assessment for steel HRC, domestic, exw Northern Europe, which was €420-425 per tonne on November 20.
