Hebei Steel, China’s second largest steel mill, announced on Monday that it would procure 26,000 tonnes of silico-manganese this month, an increase of 1,390 tonnes from November, when the mill
slashed its purchase price by 1,200 yuan ($170) per tonne.
Despite Hebei Steel increasing the amount of silico-manganese that it is looking to procure in December, many market participants are still pessimistic over the final purchase price.
