Hebei Steel’s SiMn tender price could decline again in Dec, sources say

Hebei Steel’s purchase price for silico-manganese for December delivery might be lower than the prior month, though probably only slightly, due to an abundance of supply as well as falling prices in the spot and futures markets, sources told Fastmarkets on Tuesday December 3.

Hebei Steel, China’s second largest steel mill, announced on Monday that it would procure 26,000 tonnes of silico-manganese this month, an increase of 1,390 tonnes from November, when the mill slashed its purchase price by 1,200 yuan ($170) per tonne.
Despite Hebei Steel increasing the amount of silico-manganese that it is looking to procure in December, many market participants are still pessimistic over the final purchase price.
