Shanghai-bonded copper stocks dip in mid-December

Copper stocks in the Shanghai bonded zone edged down in mid-December amid a slight uptick in end-of-year sales.

Fastmarkets assessed Shanghai-bonded copper stocks at 258,500-262,500 tonnes on Monday December 16, down by 1.3% from 262,000-266,000 tonnes on December 2.

Despite the increase, stocks remain only marginally above 250,000 tonnes - the lowest amount since Fastmarkets began assessing Shanghai-bonded copper stocks in October 27, 2014. The most recent assessment is also well below this year’s high of 573,000-577,000 tonnes...
