TURKEY FLAT STEEL: Price increases continue, demand moderate

Some Turkish flat steel producers increased their prices again during the week ended Friday December 20, and demand was moderate as the year-end approached.

Raw material prices, especially those for scrap, have continued to increase recently.
Fastmarkets’ daily index for steel scrap, HMS 1&2 (80:20 mix), US origin, cfr Turkey, was at $300.98 per tonne on December 19, rising from $297.06 per tonne on December 12.
