China’s chrome ore imports up by 10% in Jan-Nov

China imported 14.3 million tonnes of chome from January to November 2019, up 10% from the 13.1 million tonnes imported in the same period of the previous year, according to official but unconfirmed data seen by Fastmarkets.

Chrome ore imports rose to 1.54 million tonnes in November, the highest since April 2019, official data shows.
“Back in September, there was a boom in the seaborne market amid improved sentiment,” said a smelter source.

Taiyuan Iron & Steel (Tisco) raised its ferro-chrome tender price by 400 yuan per tonne on Friday September 20 to 6,500 yuan per tonne on a duty-paid basis including delivery for the entire fourth quarter....
