US structural tubing prices flat; structural sections/hot-rolled coil price spread narrows

Prices for domestically produced structural tubing in the United States remained flat on Thursday January 16, with market participants noting steady demand for hollow structural sections as well as a shrinking price spread with hot-rolled coil.

“I think the mills are still staying busy,” one distributor said. “There hasn’t been any backing down on price, it’s going up.
