RUSSIA REBAR: Low secondary market demand constrains price growth

Rebar prices growth in the Central Federal District around Moscow, Russia, was constrained this week, despite reduced supplies, because demand on secondary market was still seasonally weak, sources told Fastmarkets.

Fastmarkets’ weekly price assessment for steel reinforcing bar (rebar), domestic, cpt Moscow, Russia, including 20% VAT, was 32,000-33,000 roubles per tonne on Tuesday March 10, unchanged week on week.

In US dollar terms, however, the price fell over the week due to the softening of the exchange-rate value of the Russian rouble.
