The latest suspensions followed a raft of announcements made at the beginning of this week
UK-based Rolls-Royce Motor Cars will suspend production from March 23 at its Goodwood manufacturing plant in the English county of West Sussex.
The suspension will be followed by a previously scheduled two-week maintenance shutdown over the Easter holiday period.
“This action has not been taken lightly, but the health and well-being of our exceptional workforce is first and foremost in our minds,” Torsten Müller- Ötvös, the Rolls-Royce chief executive, said on Wednesday March 18.
This stoppage, on top of others, was expected to curb demand in the region for secondary aluminium in the coming weeks.
