EUROPE WIRE ROD: Trading stalls as demand softens further on virus issues

Prices of steel mesh-quality wire rod in the European domestic markets showed no changes over the seven days to Wednesday March 18 with trading stalled by issues related to the outbreak of 2019-nCoV coronavirus, sources have told Fastmarkets.

The market was quiet in Italy this week, with buyers postponing new bookings while waiting for a clearer market picture to emerge.
“The market is totally paralyzed,” one Italy-based trader said.
