Rio Tinto to reduce aluminium activities in Quebec

Rio Tinto is to reduce activities at its aluminium operations in Quebec, Canada, after an order from the head of the province designed to reduce the spread of the novel coronavirus (2019-nCoV).

Any impacts to operations or production guidance will be reported to the market in due course, the company said.
All non-essential businesses are to close from midnight on Tuesday March 24 until Monday April 13, although Rio Tinto’s operations there are deemed to be essential.
