Brazilian flat steel sales down more than 8% year on year in February; outlook poor

Brazilian sales of flat steel products from distributors dropped by 8.10% year-on-year in February, according to figures released by the country's distribution association, Inda.

Sales amounted to 284,600 tonnes, down from 309,800 tonnes a year earlier, according to Inda figures published on Tuesday March 24.
The February 2020 figure was affected by a lower number of working days in an annual comparison and, in a month-on-month comparison, sales were up 1.90% from January’s 279,400 tonnes.
