Lead smelters lock-in annual concentrate TCs at multi-year highs with South 32, Teck

Japanese and South Korean lead smelters have secured annual lead concentrate treatment charges (TCs) at four- and five-year highs.

Japan's Mitsui Mining & Smelting did a deal with miner Teck Resources, setting treatment charges for lead at $175 per tonne and a silver refining charge at $1.5 per ounce for Red Dog concentrates, representing a four-year high for the material, a source claiming direct knowledge said.
