CIS FLAT STEEL: Offer prices drop in attempts to create demand

Flat steel exporters from the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) reduced their offer prices again during the week ended Monday March 30, trying to spur demand.

Fastmarkets’ weekly price assessment for steel hot-rolled coil, export, fob Black Sea, CIS, was $415-425 per tonne on Monday, down by $20 per tonne from $435-445 per tonne a week before.
“There is no demand, actually, even although mills cut their offers almost every day,” one trader in Turkey told Fastmarkets.
