Tungsten concentrate price at 6-month low in China; APT export price holds in quiet market

China’s black tungsten concentrate price declined to a six-month low this week on lower offers from traders and sluggish market demand, while the ammonium paratungstate (APT) export price remained steady with few trades heard.

Fastmarkets’ price assessment for tungsten concentrate 65% WO3, in-whs China was 79,000-81,000 yuan ($11,129-11,411) per tonne on Wednesday April 1, down by 4,000-5,000 yuan per tonne or 5.3% from 84,000-85,000 yuan per tonne a week earlier. The latest assessment places the price at its lowest since mid-September 2019.
