Sichuan plan to step up rebar quality checks could boost sentiment, prices in vanadium market

China's Sichuan province is to implement an inspection regime to ensure steelmakers comply with the nationwide policy requiring the increased use of alloys to improve the quality of any rebar produced in the region.

Sichuan's Economic & Information Department, Department of Housing & Urban-Rural Development and the Administration for Market Regulation issued a joint official notice on May 8 outlining the details of their decision to improve the supply of vanadium-bearing steel products and implement supervision of the quality of steel products across the province, in accordance with the country's revised rebar policy that came into effect on November 1, 2018.
