Brazilian flat steel distributors' sales fall 38% in April

Brazilian flat steel distributors reported a 37.6% year-on-year drop in sales in April due to end users’ lower operating rates amid the Covid-19 pandemic, according to figures released on Tuesday May 19 by Inda, the association representing them in Brazil.

These distributors sold 165,900 tonnes of flat steel last month, compared with 266,000 tonnes a year earlier. Last month’s sales are also 37.5% lower than March’s 265,300 tonnes.
Inda estimates that sales will increase by a slight of 5% in May in comparison with April.
