TURKEY FLAT STEEL: HRC prices rise on healthy demand

Domestic and imported prices for steel hot-rolled coil in Turkey continued to increase during the week ended Friday May 29 because of strong demand in the country.

Scrap prices also kept increasing during the week, with several new deals heard.
Fastmarkets’ daily index for steel scrap, HMS 1&2 (80:20 mix), US origin, cfr Turkey, was $256.60 per tonne on May 29, rising from $252.31 on May 22.
HRC exports
Fastmarkets’ weekly price assessment for steel hot-rolled coil, export, fob main port Turkey, was $395-410 per tonne on May 29, falling from $415-420 per tonne on May 22.
